The utilization of ice assumes paramount importance when it needs to reach its destination at a specific time and in the best shape and quality. For this purpose, the Ice Transfer System has been developed. Ice is one of the most important elements used in preserving and storing food items. Additionally, it is utilized in the proper production of many industrial materials.

What is an Ice Transfer System?

In consumer sectors, there is typically an issue with ice transportation, where ice fails to reach its destination on time. To address this challenge, a mechanical and fully automated system is utilized. It can be described as a conduit between the production line and the consumption line.

What are the Components of an Ice Transfer System?

When discussing the main components of the Ice Transfer System, we need to refer to its three primary parts, each of which is elaborated upon below:

To better understand the functionality of this system, imagine a container or a bin with an opening at the top. This opening is connected to the drum of a powder or flake ice maker.

When ice is produced, it is poured and accumulated inside these containers. To utilize these containers and bins optimally, there is a device called a shovel that distributes the ice throughout all parts of the system and creates a flat surface.

This shovel device has both vertical and horizontal reciprocating movements, allowing it to move and distribute the ice in two modes effectively. It’s noteworthy that as the system fills up, the shovel device also rises.

At the bottom of the compartment, there is an outlet opening where an auger assists in removing the ice from the compartment and transferring it towards the consumption area. The function of the auger is similar to that of a meat grinder, which scoops up a certain amount of ice from the end of the compartment and transfers it outward.

In the outlet section of the scale, there are conveyor belts and scroll conveyors. These equipment pieces transfer ice into the consumption area in predetermined quantities. For example, in concrete production, a specific amount of ice is fed into the concrete batching using this equipment, which significantly contributes to producing quality concrete.

Additionally, in poultry slaughterhouses, the produced ice is directed into a water tank through which the chickens pass to have their blood and debris cleaned off before being sent to the distribution section.
